Butler County's incredible parks offer many ways to get out and explore nature. From paved trails to accessible playgrounds to zero-entry pools and splash pads, people of all abilities are able to find a space to enjoy the outdoors.

MetroParks of Butler County has a comprehensive list of accessible features at parks around the entire park system. The list below includes current accessible features at Butler County city, township, and county parks. Some parks are free, others may have a small fee for access. 

Great Miami River Trail

  • Middletown Segment – 9 miles of paved asphalt
  • Rentschler Forest MetroPark Segment Reigart Road Area – 9.7 miles of paved asphalt. Paved parking with access to flush restrooms.
  • Hamilton Segment – paved asphalt

Gilmore MetroPark

  • Miami-Erie Canal Trail – 3 miles of paved asphalt

Voice of America MetroPark

  • Butler-Warren Trail – 0.9 miles of paved asphalt
  • Lake Trail – 1.4 miles of paved asphalt
  • Paved parking with access to restrooms and lodge.

Elk Creek MetroPark – Meadow Ridge Area

  • Paved parking with accessible portable restroom
  • Trails are mostly paved with some sections of crushed gravel. Rolling topography.

Elk Creek MetroPark – Sebald Area

  • Paved parking
  • One accessible playground
  • Restrooms are located away from parking area and difficult to reach without assistance

Forest Run MetroPark – Timberman Ridge Area

  • Timberman Ridge Trail – 1.3 Miles of paved asphalt.
  • Paved parking with accessible portable toilet
