A Cozy New Spot in Hamilton
Books have a way of bringing people together. They start conversations, broaden perspectives, and create spaces where ideas can flourish. That's the vision behind Household Books, the newest addition to downtown Hamilton.
Bound by Books
Whether you're a lifelong reader, an aspiring writer, or simply looking for a cozy place to spend an afternoon, Household Books invites visitors to slow down and stay awhile. The shop embraces the idea that bookstores can be more than retail spaces. They can serve as cultural hubs; places where readers become friends, writers find their voices, and local artists have a platform to share their work.
A Hometown Dream
Household Books was founded by Hamilton native Bobby Minelli, whose love of books and community inspired him to create a space unlike any other. The bookstore first began as a pop-up shop in Cincinnati, establishing successful locations in both College Hill and Walnut Hills. As the concept grew and found an audience, Minelli found himself drawn back to the city where his story began.
When asked to describe the atmosphere he hopes to create, Minelli says: "I wanted to combine the Room of Requirement, Tiny Desk Concerts, and Borders." It's a fitting description. Household Books blends the wonder of discovering something unexpected, the intimacy of a live performance, and the comfort of spending hours lost among shelves of books.
More than a Bookshop
At a time when many interactions happen through screens, this eclectic bookshop offers something increasingly rare: a physical space dedicated to curiosity, conversation, and connection.
