Q: What's your number one tip for first-time antique shoppers?
Carly: "Every new customer that comes through our doors has the same look of awe on their face. This place is huge and takes some time to walk through. Pack some water and wear comfortable shoes. Also, don't have a plan. You will walk the aisles one way and then turn around and go back, and it's a whole new experience."
If You Love It, Don't Leave It Behind
Unique pieces don't typically stick around for long, and there may only be one available.
Q: What's the secret to having a successful day at an antique mall?
Carly: "Don't have a plan, give yourself plenty of time, and if you like it, buy it! Items don't last long, especially if it's something good. I can't tell you how many times people will come in after a busy weekend and say they regret not buying something and it's gone. The items are unique and there may only be one, so if you can't live without it, buy it!"

Q: Are there any collectibles you think are underrated or worth watching?
Carly: "I am seeing a big comeback in comics lately. Customers are enjoying the nostalgia of finding their childhood favorites. We really meet people from all over the country who come to our mall for the variety, so we can't pinpoint just one thing to watch. Younger generations are buying modern furniture and accents, and people are always buying albums. Some listen to them, and some use the album as art, so they are universally enjoyed for different reasons. I think moving forward, we will see a big demand for macrame and abstract artwork."

Q: What vintage items are especially popular right now?
Carly: "Pyrex and glassware like Milk Glass and Ironstone, Records and anything Modern/Mid Century. Think 60 and 70s style furniture and decor."

Q: What advice would you give customers searching for a one-of-a-kind piece?
Carly: "Keep hunting and be willing to adapt! Some people come in with something in mind and will walk out with something totally different. You have to get a feel for the items you're looking for, not just expect to find exactly what you have in mind. Have a vision, but don't make it too specific or you will get overwhelmed quickly."
